Personal Debt Problem for Many Aspiring Religious

I see a problem here. Taking a vow of poverty before they enter should help them to pay off their would seem anyway.

  1. It's hard to tell from your post, but I think you're being a bit too flip about this. In today's society, higher education, especially at the graduate or professional level, requires one to assume a sometimes quite-substantial amount of debt. If you don't discern a call to religous life until later in life, you won't be able to act on that call until the debt is gone, which might take several years.
