President Signs Bill for Terri

What has happened to the Democrat party? Why are they against life in this instance?

From My Way News:

"President Bush signed emergency legislation sent to him by Congress early Monday to allow Terri Schiavo's parents ask a federal judge to prolong their daughter's life, capping days of emotional debate over who should decide life and death.

'In cases like this one, where there are serious questions and substantial doubts, our society, our laws and our courts should have a presumption in favor of life,' Bush said in a statement after signing the bill.

After flying back to Washington from his Texas ranch, Bush had waited at the White House to sign the measure permitting a federal review of the case, which could trigger the reinsertion of feeding tubes needed to keep the brain-damaged Florida woman alive.

The House passed the bill on a 203-58 vote after calling lawmakers back for an emergency Sunday session for debate that stretched past midnight."

  1. I am backing Michael Schiavo 100% Have any of you seen a person in a vegative state. If you have, you would have agreed to have the feeding tube removed and let her go to her heavenly home. People need more information and education. This is for her parents and family. You are being cruel to keep her alive this way. If you are on a feeding tube, you can not feed them regular food. The food will end up in her lungs and she will contact penumonia and will than leave this earth. She has been gone for 15 years, get closure and get on with your life. I will keep praying Michael that you be able to grant Terri's wish. I hope that everyone will go and get their durable power of attorney done, so this won't happen to them. Elaine Stonestreet

  4. She is not vegetative- she is awake and responsive- not in an irreversible coma. Her parents are willing to take care of her- and her husband, who has moved on, has technically waived any "rights" he may have had to "speak for" her.

  5. What has this country come to when life is no longer sacred? Can we be that callused?

  6. No, not all of us. May God protect Terri from the evil that surrounds her.
